Am Ordensklinikum Linz Elisabethinen werden seit 50 Jahren Nieren transplantiert; j\u00e4hrlich werden dort rund 60 solcher Eingriffe vorgenommen.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Neuester Stand. <\/strong>\u201eDas Transplantationszentrum ist neben Wien, Graz und Innsbruck eines von vier in \u00d6sterreich\u201c, so Dr. Michael Girschikofsky, \u00c4rztlicher Direktor am Ordensklinikum. \u201eBesonders stolz sind wir auch auf die zahlreichen Studien, an denen sich das Transplantationszentrum beteiligt, um sicherzustellen, dass die medizinische Versorgung im Haus auf dem neuesten Stand der Wissenschaft ist.\u201c<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gute Chancen. <\/strong>Das Ordensklinikum Linz ist auch f\u00fcr die Transplantkoordination aller Organe in O\u00d6. zust\u00e4ndig \u2013 eine \u00e4u\u00dferst aufwendige, weil zeitkritische Arbeit. Die Transplantation ist laut Primar Daniel Cejka, Leiter der Abteilung f\u00fcr Nephrologie und Transplantationsmedizin, die beste Nieren-Ersatztherapie: \u201eMit einer Transplantation kann die restliche Lebenszeit verdoppelt bis verdreifacht werden, bei deutlich besserer Lebensqualit\u00e4t im Vergleich zu jener bei einer Dialyse\u201c, so Cejka. Die durchschnittliche Wartezeit auf ein Spenderorgan betr\u00e4gt in \u00d6sterreich dreieinhalb Jahre. Je schneller ein Patient auf die Warteliste gesetzt werden kann, desto eher kann sie oder er ein Organ erhalten. Nat\u00fcrlich nur, falls auch ein Organ zur Verf\u00fcgung steht.
